Martha’s interaction with Jesus showed her faith in His abilities. But when she saw Jesus, her words revealed the hope she still had: But instead of coming quickly, Jesus waited until Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days.Īt this point, Martha could have assumed that the window for a miracle was over, that healing wasn’t part of Jesus’ plan. When her brother became ill, she sent word to Jesus. For instance, if there was ever a person who had reason to think an outcome was certain, it was Martha. It’s comforting to see that people in Scripture faced this too. I decide what the silence means before giving God space to speak to me through it. Although I seek His guidance before making decisions, I often draw my own conclusions afterward if He doesn’t respond on my timeline. As I sought opportunities to enter the workforce again, this job seemed like the perfect fit - but now I thought perhaps it wasn’t God’s timing.įinding no new emails, I shut my laptop and thought, God’s answer to this prayer must be a “no.” I hadn’t asked Him for confirmation, but I assumed the lack of response meant the door was closed.Īs much as I dislike admitting it, this was not the first time I had made assumptions about God’s answer to my prayers. Because of Christ and the difference that He has made in their lives, they can withstand the storm. But through it all, as the video shows, Christ is with them, giving them hope and a promise of a future. Another woman receives a devastating medical diagnosis, and one young man has a drug addiction. One woman is struggling over the loss of a loved one. The rest of the video is of people dealing with some of the worst life has to offer. Lost in the dark then You walked in the room Even though things may appear rough ahead, with the outcome murky and unclear, Christ remains by our side. The song's wonderful opening verse mentions the difference Christ can and does make when He comes into our hearts and lives. What are we going to do? How are we going to survive? Will we even make it through? He provides comfort, healing and shelter during life’s storms.ĭanny Gokey’s beautifully written and performed song “I Got You” is all about these times when we encounter life’s storms. These incidents can leave us overwhelmed, push us to the brink and crying out for help.īut, thankfully, there is one who never leaves our side, even when we may question His presence and actions. To make matters even worse, these circumstances often come at the least expected moment, not allowing us time to brace ourselves for the hurt to come. Life can and will throw all kinds of horrible, painful and agonizing situations in our direction.
